Usher and Tameka Foster have been going everywhere acting as man and wife.
But what they may not realize is that, under current Georgia law, the two
may not be officially married after all. You see, MediaTakeOut.com
uncovered the couple's marriage certificate - and it contains an error
that may invalidate Usher and Tameka's marriage.
In a MediaTakeOut.com exclusive report, we managed to get our hands on
Usher and Tameka Foster's official marriage license. And when we looked at
it, we were shocked!! It turns out that the certificate (shown above)
mistakenly lists the officiant of the marriage as "Min. Penny Brown
Reynold" and not "Penny Brown Reynolds". Brown-Reynolds, who is also a
judge in Atlanta's Fulton County, performed the official marriage
ceremony.
But that's not all. MediaTakeOut.com contacted a clerk from Atlanta's
Fulton County Probate Court to gauge their opinion on the matter. When
asked what the impact of the error on the certificate would be on Usher's
marriage, the clerk responded, "If [Usher and Tameka] were married by a
minister named 'Penny Brown Reynolds', and not 'Penny Brown Reynold,' this
[error] probably invalidates the marriage ... I would suggest that they
have the certificate changed immediately."
And if you think that a mistake on a marriage certificate couldn't
possibly invalidate a marriage, think again. Just a few days ago,
Detroit's The Macomb Daily reported that a Michigan couple learned that,
because the minister signed the wrong line of the marriage license, they
weren't legally married.
The would-be bride, Diana Lynn Hickson, was supposed to fix the error -
but for years she procrastinated. When the marriage hit a rocky point, the
would-be groom, Eugene J. Mandziuk, got an idea. Instead of filing for
divorce and paying spousal support, Mandziuk walked out on his
would-be-wife of almost 2 years - and sued her for nearly $50,000 - the
cost of a diamond wedding ring, and various gifts he gave Hickson over the
course of their "marriage." Right now the case is pending in a Michigan
court.
Following hot on the heels of last week's launch of Diddy's newest
fragrance, Unforgivable Woman, platinum-selling singer Usher became the
latest musician to enter the scent market, with his aptly named "Usher."
"Diddy has been so supportive of me," Usher revealed to OK! when we caught
up with him at NYC's Cipriani's 23rd Street for the party to celebrate the
fragrance's release. And with such support from his hip-hop entrepreneur
pal, Usher also tells OK! that he'd have no problem with his new bride
Tameka Foster wearing Unforgivable Woman. "I can’t stop her," he laughs.
"Whatever she wants to wear would be great."
Speaking of women that are hard to forgive, the launch party also served
as a peace ceremony between Usher and his mom Jonetta Patton, who chose
not to attend her son's Labor Day Weekend wedding, reportedly out of
protest against Tameka, who is almost 10 years Usher's senior. But when
Usher thanked the guests for coming, he made special note of his mother,
saying, "I introduced her earlier as Jonetta, but she is my momma."
As for his own inspiration behind his fragrance Usher says, "I wanted it
to be something that would supply the sophisticated woman with her scent
and supply the sexy woman with her scent."

Who knows whether it was Usher's new fragrance being pumped into the air
or the heady presence of the man himself that caused the young lady next
to me to faint dead away at Cipriani Tuesday night.
But as she crumpled lightly to the floor, they appeared: Usher and his new
wife, Tameka, and (purportedly feuding) mother, Jonetta Patton.
"It's sophisticated for a woman and confident for a man," Usher told me of
his twin scents. And what cologne did he wear before?
"As soon as I created my own, I forgot all the others," he grinned.
And Tameka — did you help too? "I believe I helped inspire them," she
said, a tad icily.

Usher Reveals: It's a Boy! - September 26, 2007
"I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and

So I just got an email from a insider at the Usher fragrance party that went
down last night. Of course I can’t reveal my sources, but this is what I was
told:
Even though Usher’s momma was in attendance, she was near her (young) boo and
younger son James the whole time. He [Usher] made a special point to shout-out
his momma every chance a microphone came his way, dedicating the scents to her,
blah blah blah. Tameka showed up hella late, hella preggers, though looking
quite fab in 4-inch heels and a gray mini-dress.
Oh, and you could still slice the tension in the room with a knife when those
two (momma & Meka) walked right past AND ignored each other a few times. They
may have made nice for a camera or two, but don’t believe the hype.
Usher Talks Up New Album - "It's Just About
Finished"
Source: MTV Date: September 25, 2007
There's no title and no release date, but Usher says to trust him: He's
not going to make us wait too much longer for his anticipated follow-up to
2004's multiplatinum Confessions.
"I'm working on my album," he said via phone from Atlanta on Friday.
"It'll be out, I'm not sure when.
"I'm not doing the Dr. Dre to y'all. I'm not doing the Detox," he added,
jokingly referring to Dr. Dre's all too long-awaited next album. "I'm on
my way. I'm actually just about finished. I've been working on it all this
year amongst all the other things I've been doing. It's been a somewhat
tumultuous year for me. But you go through something to get to something.
I'm a married man with a baby on the way, you gotta love that. That's the
next major step. A lot of what I plan to offer with this album is kinda
standing in this spot. ... The king's back. I ain't gonna say 'back,' I
never left."
And on the
fragrances:
"I wanted to do something for my female fans as well as my male fans," he
explained. "I want to leave everybody feeling right. I wanted to shut it
all the way down. I felt the only way to get acclimated into this business
it to take into account there are two directions you can go into: male or
female. Nowadays entrepreneurships start in any direction. I take notes
from great designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford. These
people were able to fully introduce an entire lifestyle brand. Me, I
decided to start with fragrance. Clothing is coming. There are other
businesses and other ventures as an entrepreneur, you can look forward to.
This is the one that will get directly on your skin."
Usher says for the past year and change, he was involved in every facet of
the cologne-making process, including the smell and the design of the
bottles and boxes.

Usher's Fragrances Getting Bad Reviews
As we previously mentioned, Usher is yet another celebrity putting out a
fragrance this year. Well, the women's perfume and men's cologne finally hit the
shelves this week and word is that the scents are funky--and not in a good way.
We're surprised that fans aren't feeling Tameka Foster's bottled musk. NOT!
A montage of commercials that Usher shot to promote the fragrances has also
surfaced on the net and they are beyond boring. Don't operate heavy machinery
after watching these as it may cause drowsiness.

Usher Fans: "Your cologne STINKS!"
Usher might want to check the early sales figures for his new cologne and
perfume. So far the consensus from fans is the cologne and perfume stinks.
"Nobody likes the smell," said one sales rep at Macy's Lenox Mall who
spoke under condition of anonymity. "We've had several returns. That's not
a lot of returns but they're not selling so that's high," said the rep who
admitted to being an Usher fan.
The sales rep said she personally has not sold a single bottle of the
fragrance and wouldn't purchase a bottle for herself or her friends. The
main reason: "It stinks!"
One well placed music industry executive who received several
complimentary bottles of Usher's cologne said the fragrance is, "the worst
shit I've ever smelled in my life!" The exec recounts wearing the
fragrance into the office and inadvertently emptying out the room. "I
ended up sending an assistant to get baby wipes to wipe it off," he said.

The Wedding Party photo says: "Usher's brother James Lackey and Foster's

The First Dance photo says: “There was a wonderful energy everywhere we

diamond necklace borrowed from Patti LaBelle) “The wedding was beyond
beautiful.”
The happy couple chose "Before I Let Go" by Frankie Beverly and Maze for
their first dance and also enjoyed dancing to a song the groom wrote for
his bride called "Here I Stand."
Usher Puts Atlanta House on the Market
The House of
Usher is for sale.
The singer and newlywed, 28, is asking $1.95 million for his 5-bedroom,
4½-bathroom, gray stucco home in metro Atlanta's Country Club of the South
gated community.
A couple months ago I posted that Usher has already bought his new house,
which was purchased in March 2007. So are the happy couple living together? Not sure, because
(here comes some inside info) Tameka has also bought another house in June
2007. Now, the new house Usher bought only has his name on the title. The
new house Tameka bought has her name (here's some more inside info) and
Darius Foster, which is listed as a JTWROS (joint tenancy with right of
survivorship). Why buy 2 new houses? Who knows. But these are the things
that make you go hhmmmm.

Usher Update
Source: AJC Date: September 5, 2008
On Tuesday, we received additional details from Usher’s second wedding
reception at Chateau Elan over the weekend. We’re told that South City
Kitchen in Midtown catered the Charleston she-crab soup, fried green
tomatoes, Caesar salads with fried okra, buttermilk fried chicken,
truffled mac and cheese and peach cobbler for the 130 guests. The eats
were served in a tent near where Doug E. Fresh was busy performing.
Meanwhile, as Hot-107.9 morning announcer Rashan Ali was spilling details
about the second ceremony on air Tuesday, a distinct giggle could be heard
in the background. It was Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC, a one-time,
longtime girlfriend of the Atlanta R&B superstar. Ali broke from her
entertainment report to ask Thomas what she thought about the nuptials —
or more specifically, about Usher’s mother reportedly not attending. “I
don’t think anything,” she replied, still laughing. “I don’t think
anything.” Thomas did add that she stays in touch with Jonnetta Patton, or
as she calls her “Mama J.” She also said that she and Usher “had
chemistry.” “I wish [Usher] well in everything he does.”

Usher on the Ellen DeGeneres Show
(tapped last week, aired today September 4, 2007)
Usher was spotted in NYC today (September 4),
leaving his hotel.
Let's Reminisce,
Shall We ...
First let me start off by saying that I receive 100’s of emails from fans
everyday. I do read most of them and try to reply to as many as I can. In
the majority of the emails I have received recently, a lot of fans are
asking the same questions. “What happen to Usher, He’s not fun anymore,
Why is he acting this way, etc ...
Sorry, but questions like that I cannot answer. Usher is 28 now. He has
changed. Sometimes people change for the best, sometimes for the worst.
Either way, the bottom line is people change.
There are a lot of “newer” Usher fans that became fans during the
“Confessions” period. Note for those fans: Usher use to be a fun guy. So,
for my “Let’s Reminisce, Shall We...” this is a clip from a
interview 6 years ago when Usher was more “fun”.
Dad-to-Be Usher: 'I Want a Boy'
Source: People Date: August 31, 2007
Recent groom and father-to-be Usher is ready to pass on his name – to a
boy.
In his first interview since marrying Tameka Foster on Aug. 3, the R&B
star, making a surprise appearance on Tuesday's post-Labor Day The Ellen
DeGeneres Show, tells the host, "I don't know," when she asks, "Is it a
boy or a girl?"
But, he adds, "I want it to be a boy" – which prompts DeGeneres to tell
him, "Now, you're going to have a girl, and she's going to see this tape
and say, 'Daddy, why don't you love me?' You better save some for some
therapy. But you're going to love her if it's a little girl."
Asked if he wants a boy so they can play sports together, Usher says, "I
think every man wants a son."
As for names, "If it's a boy, I'm going to name him Usher," says the
musician, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV. "I'm hoping to name him
that. I've been playing with a few names. I'm the fourth. Usher Raymond
IV. I just want to pass the name on. Maybe I'll change the middle name."
And, if it's a girl? "What about Usherette?" asks DeGeneres.
"I thought you would've suggested Ellen first," says Usher.
"Last time you were here, you were single," DeGeneres also tells him. "You
said you wanted a lady that you could take from the Waffle House to the
White House. You found her."
"I did. I found someone that I'm very, very happy to call my wife," he
tells her. "Tameka Raymond. She's beautiful."
Only DeGeneres also wants to know why she wasn't invited to the wedding,
which was originally scheduled for July 28 in the Hamptons but ended up
taking place in a civil ceremony in Atlanta.
"I actually sent you an invite," claims Usher. "You didn't get it? You
never called me that you changed your address. I sent to 3941 Lover's
Lane."
"That's so odd I didn't get it," kids DeGeneres, who then gets serious and
says about the big, lavish wedding the bride, 38, and groom, 28 have
scheduled for Atlanta over Labor Day weekend: "I'm really happy for you."

Obama wants another 'boom' event in Atlanta
Source: AJC
We’ll have presidential candidates of both stripes popping in and out of
metro Atlanta over the next two weeks.
The largest event looks to belong to Barack Obama. The Democratic
presidential candidate is out to hold another huge rally in downtown
Atlanta — this one indoors, with a relatively small cover charge.
The event is Sept. 20, the locale is the Georgia World Congress Center,
and the cost of admission — in the form of a campaign contribution — is
$25.
Sharing the stage will be Usher Raymond IV, the actor/singer who usually
goes by a shorter handle, and former Atlanta Hawks great Dominique
Wilkins. Wilkins’ presence is interesting.

Big Weekend For Usher
Tameka Foster & Usher @
Jonnetta's 50th B-Day Party - April 2007
Date: August 28, 2007
Looks like it’s gonna be a big weekend for Usher. They are
having a celebration with their family and friends this weekend in
Braselton, Georgia.
Since this is a private affair, I cannot post the location of where this
event is taking place, but I can tell you that it is a beautiful resort to
have a celebration.

Update: On Tuesday, some of Usher's
friends and family contacted me to let me know the details of this
wonderful celebration. Of course they asked me to keep it private, so I
did. Even though some of you guys found out 2 days ago, and yes, it was
held at Château Élan. So I figured I'd update this post with the recent
information from People. BTW, the photo above that I posted on Tuesday is

Update: People.com has updated the article on their website. The following
highlighted part was added.
After a quiet civil ceremony, Usher and Tameka Foster at last pulled off
their dream wedding in Atlanta on Saturday.
"I'm thrilled that this is finally happening," said one guest, who watched
the couple exchange vows in front of about 200 people at the luxurious
Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, a 16th-century-style French chateau set on
3,500 acres of rolling hills outside Atlanta. "It was a long time coming,
and I can't think of any two people who deserve happiness more than they
do."
Among the guests were Oprah Winfrey's pal Gayle King and music manager
Benny Medina.
Usher's mother, Jonnetta Patton, who has
reportedly clashed with Foster, did not attend.
The guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner inside the resort's ballroom. Dessert
was a five-tiered white chocolate-covered wedding cake with handmade
flowers by Napa's Perfect Endings, who recently did Eva Longoria's wedding
cake.
"They are in love and they wanted this to be perfect," says another guest
of the event, planned by wedding planner Diann Valentine. "They had their
reasons for not getting married (before), and that's their own business.
Now they could get things done the way they wanted to, their family and
friends can be here now."
The couple originally planned to tie the knot at a lavish
no-expenses-spared event at music mogul L.A. Reid's Sagaponack, N.Y.,
home, but the ceremony was postponed at the last minute.
The civil ceremony between Usher, 28, and Foster, 38, was reportedly held
in his lawyer's office Aug. 3. The couple are expecting their first child
this fall. This is Usher's first marriage, Foster's second.
