Usher’s Mom Makes Quite An Impression On The Set Of
‘Trading Places’ Video
OK, working at MTVizzle or “The Matrix” as my friends call it, I’ve met a whole
lot of people. But here on the set of Usher’s latest video for “Trading Places,”
I got to meet one of the coolest people in the biz. And it’s not who you think!
I’m talking about Usher’s mom. I’m sorry, but Ms. Jonnetta Patton is one of the
best mommagers ever. And the best part of it all is how much she and her son
resemble each other. Love it!
Oh, and this video is fire. Classic Usher, ladies! And for you fellas, there’s
some eye candy for you too.

Usher is going to be a father for the second time.
This will be Tameka's 5th child and Usher's 2nd.
Recently, Foster was spotted wearing a belly-disguising outfit during
Usher's Sept. 4 NFL kick-off concert in New York. The dress was "very
deceiving," the source says. "You couldn't tell she was pregnant when she
was sitting down."
Usher's rep could not be reached for comment.

marriage.
Tameka Foster gave birth to their son last year and is expecting their 2nd child in December.
This would be Tameka's fifth child and Usher's second.
MTO reports, the rumor that Usher had separated from his wife Tameka
Foster is not true, but Tameka is pregnant with their second child

Usher's "Ladies Only" Tour
Source: Yahoo News Date: September 2, 2008
The R&B singer revealed in a recent interview with The Associated Press that he
will soon announce details of his "One Night Stand" tour. He said specific dates
are still being worked out for about 15 "intimate" venues.
"There's only a few artists that can pull that off," explained Usher. "I feel
like I've had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt like, was
definitely the type of one that was more intimate. So what better way to get up
close and personal than to make it all women?"
The R&B crooner revealed that he plans to release his own line of lingerie and
men's underwear.
Usher is also working on a video for his new single
"Trading Places."
Usher at the Super Bowl
Source: Journal Wire Report Date: September 2, 2008
Like the NFL teams beginning their new seasons, Usher is hoping to go all the
way to the Super Bowl. The R&B singer will perform the season's first concert on
Thursday in New York's Columbus Circle along with Keith Urban and Natasha
Bedingfield. The 3 p.m. concert will be held just before the season opener, when
the Washington Redskins take on the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Like
the Redskins and Giants, Usher is aiming for the big game in February. The game
might be the destination of all football players; it's also one of the most
sought-after gigs in music.
"I don't think it's too early to consider it," said
Usher, speaking from Atlanta. "Certainly being associated with the organization
makes that a lot more possible. There have been conversations for a lot of years
about me being part of a performance at a Super Bowl." He added: "I'm hoping
that this leads, definitely, to that. This whole process is basically you
scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."
Democratic National Convention 2008
Usher is set to boost Barack Obama's presidential campaign, by
performing at the Democratic Convention August 25, 2008 in Denver.
Although the guest list continues to grow by the minute, celebrities like Matt
Damon, Madonna, Ben Affleck, Wyclef Jean, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kanye West, George
Clooney and Warren Beatty are said to be confirmed for the convention.

Usher is releasing two new singles from his latest effort “Here I Stand.”
Although his album “Here I Stand” opened with over 400,000 copies sold it has
yet to live up to its predecessor “Confessions.” With that being said, Usher
released “Trading Places” and “Here I Stand,” the album’s title track to radio
this week in hopes that the singles will give the album the push that it needs
to bring him back to prominence amidst competition from R&B singers Chris Brown,
Robin Thicke, Joe, and Lloyd, who are all making moves on the charts.
Usher’s second single “Moving Mountains” peaked at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100

Usher Dumps Manager

Usher Back in Mommy's Arms After Dumping Manager Medina.
Turns Out Usher's Still A Mama's Boy.
The R&B hitmaker has dumped Hollywood power broker Benny Medina and rehired mom
Jonnetta Patton as his manager, E! News has exclusively learned.
Sources say the Medina split is a direct result of poor management and
disappointing record sales for the team's first and only collaboration, Here I
Stand.
"He's leaving Benny. The record is pretty stiff, and nowhere nearly as
successful as Confessions," an insider says of the singer's 2004 blockbuster
album.
Confessions was a worldwide sensation, selling 19 million copies under the
supervision of Patton. After debuting at No. 1 in June, Here I Stand, Usher's
fifth studio album, has chalked up a relatively paltry 2 million in sales
worldwide. This, despite the radio success of the single "Love in This Club
(Part II)."
There was no immediate comment from Usher, Patton or Medina.
Usher dumped the momager for Medina last year—amid reports of tension between
wife Tameka Foster and Patton—and considering his previous remarks, it might be
tough going home again.
"This is great for me because it means I now get to have my mother strictly as
my mother with no added pressure," the one-named wonder, whose last name is
Raymond, told the Associated Press in 2007, when he and Patton parted ways.
And just last month the 29-year-old entertainer was quoted in Vibe magazine
calling his mom an "aggressive person" who made his decision to part ways
difficult.
"I hurt more than anything over these last two years when I felt my mother
didn't really embrace my situation," Usher told Vibe.
News of the switcheroo also comes after Usher's rep shot down rumors that he and
Foster were having marital issues.
While it remains to be seen whether Patton still has the multiplatinum touch
when it comes to guiding her son's career, Medina's probably not hurting too
much. His current stable includes Nicole Richie, Mariah Carey and Rupert
Everett. He has also previously helped call the shots for the likes of Jennifer
Lopez, Tyra Banks and Sean "Diddy" Combs.
Shots Fired!
Source: TMZ Date: August 2, 2008
Several huge stars were sent running for their lives when gunshots were fired at
Jermaine Dupri's afterparty in an Atlanta nightclub just a few hours ago. TMZ
has obtained exclusive photos of Diddy's bodyguards rushing the mogul out of
Club Dream when someone fired a round inside the club.
Usher, Gabrielle Union and Larenz Tate also made a bee line for the exits after
the blast. So far, law enforcement sources are only reporting one minor injury
related to the shooting. No word if any suspects are in custody.

Brawl In Abuja
Source: Contact
Music Date: July 12, 2008
R&B star Usher's concert in Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday morning (July
12, 2008) was marred by violence when a fight broke out in the crowd.
The Love In This Club hitmaker was performing at the This Day Music and Fashion
Festival 2008 in the country's capital of Abuja at around 1am when the drunken
brawl took place in front of the stage.
Security guards attempted to break up the scuffle as members of the crowd were
shoved towards the platform and one man was removed from the venue, The Dome.
It is currently unclear whether the unnamed male was arrested, as one source
claimed, or was simply forbidden from re-entering the concert. Nobody was
seriously injured.
